Jessica Carter began her career at Woodman’s Florist at just 17 years old, where she was hired to clean the greenhouses and process flowers. Before long, she became a full-time delivery driver and quickly fell in love with the flower shop environment. Recognizing her passion and potential, the owner and manager encouraged Jessica to learn the art of floral design. She absorbed everything she was taught and, within the same year, became a full-time floral designer. As her skills continued to grow, Jessica sought to expand her experience after high school by learning how other shops operated. She was hired at Fortin Gage in Nashua, New Hampshire—an experience that proved to be a turning point in her career. Under the mentorship of owner Jody Gage, Jessica’s talents flourished. He invested deeply in her development, sending her to numerous floral seminars and training her extensively in wedding design. Weddings quickly became Jessica’s true passion. After becoming a mother, Jessica chose to return to Milford to be closer to her son and rejoined Woodman’s Florist. It wasn’t long before she was promoted to manager. During this time, she also launched her own home-based wedding floral business, The Orchid’s Eye, to supplement her income. The business rapidly gained an excellent reputation, earning multiple awards and glowing five-star reviews. In 2019, when the owner of Woodman’s Florist decided to retire, Jessica fulfilled her lifelong dream by purchasing the shop herself—becoming its proud owner and continuing the legacy she helped build.Woodmans Florist LLC
